BBC iPlayer will stream TV on iPhone
BBC has announced that it will release streaming TV services for iPhone within weeks.
The service will use iPlayer software. It's already available on the PC. In fact over 17 million BBC programs have been streamed or downloaded through iPlayer thus far.
Some BBC shows are already available through iPlayer on an On-Demand basis, and were added to Apple’s iTunes Store just this week.
It is the first such service in Britain which isn't on PC or Mac.
We have seen good and consistent growth in the daily consumption of programming and it doesn’t look to be in any way plateauing,” said the BBC’s director of future media and technology, Ashley Highfield.
Hopefully more TV service providers will follow BBC steps.
